Wearable quilt for the Tarkine, 2016 TAS – AU
In March 2016 I was part of Tarkine In Motion, organised by the Bob Brown Foundation. Together with biologist Sarah Lundgren and 100 other artists/scientists we were send to the Tarkine; a rainforest reserve in Tasmania, which is endangered due to mining and deforestation. Our aim was to raise awareness to protect this magical place.
Sarah and I collected various plants (in moderation and with care) including eucalypts, mirtles, wattles, and seaweeds to create dye-experiments on wool and paper. Afterwards we turned the samples into a wearable armour.
