Between skin and wool

Embroidered jumper, 2018 NL

All I wanted to share with you, but which was kept between skin and wool.

I embroidered thoughts, withheld from a lover, on the inside of a jumper.

Thoughts that wanted to hide, but did exist whenever he was around and not. 

Thoughts that wanted to be expressed, but didn’t feel safe to show themselves.

As the weeks passed the jumper grew in color and context.

The back side of words.  

Negatives in colour.

A landscape.

A new language?           

Suggesting a world beyond, hidden between my skin and wool.
